This project consisted of creating an ornate wolf crafted from Stormy Grey American slate and Spanish field slates, with its detailed face formed using irregularly shaped slates arranged on a wall covered with similar slate materials.
The wolf’s features, including its eyes and slight show of tongue is crafted in zinc, the nose and fur, are meticulously crafted from the varying shades and textures of the slate cut pieces, giving it a textured, three-dimensional appearance.
The zinc eyes and tongue add a contrasting, metallic sheen, enhancing the lifelike detail.
The surrounding wall behind the wolf consists of neatly aligned slates, providing a uniform backdrop that enhances the prominence of the wolf design.
